The pin creates the pressure

Valve extensions are simple components, but place high demands on the design.
The hallmark of Air-Flexx extensions is a multi-layer structure with a stainless steel casing.

From a technical point of view, a valve extension is an auxiliary construction that facilitates access to the tire valve during an air pressure check. The extension tself is a comparatively simple component. The basic construction consists of an air tube of the appropriate length, which has a thread at one end for screwing onto the valve and an attachment for the test device at the other. However, good accessibility alone is only half the battle. A valve extension should also perform its task efficiently and safely under all operating conditions - in long-distance transport as well as on the construction site and in waste disposal operations.

Air-Flexx valve extensions are robust and flexible
The specifications for a reliable extension therefore place high demands on materials and technology. The pin creates the pressure

Air-Flexx valve extensions are robust and flexible
The specifications for a reliable extension therefore place high demands on materials and technology.
With the Air-Flexx valve extensions from the manufacturer Glauch GmbH from Viersen, robustness and flexibility are built into the design, so to speak. This is made possible by a multi-layer structure that combines materials such as stainless steel and high-performance plastics. This makes the extension extremely flexible while remaining absolutely unbreakable. At the same time, it has a high level of rigidity, which in most cases makes a valve holder or retaining bracket superfluous.

Structure of the extension combines stainless steel and high-performance plastics
The heart of the Air-Flexx valve extension is the air tube with an integrated remote control for the tire valve. This is a valve pin with a stainless steel core, which is set in a special plastic guide and moves freely in the air tube. The plastic tube is surrounded by a stainless steel casing. The outer protective cover, in turn, is made of durable plastic. Twelve different production steps are required to manufacture an Air-Flexx valve extension. The valve pin and protective cover with air tube and connecting pieces are each separate components that are later brought together in the final production stage.

The valve extension functions largely like a normal valve
Once screwed on, the valve extension sits unpressurized on the valve in the rim. Technically, this means that there is no effective internal connection between the valve pin of the extension and the valve insert of the valve. The valve core therefore remains closed and retains the air in the tire. Contact between the valve extension and the valve only occurs when the air pressure device is placed on the extension for testing or inflation. At this moment, the valve pin integrated in the valve extension presses on the valve insert. The path to the inside of the tire is free and the air can flow in. When the tester is set down again, the pressure on the valve pin is also released. The extension then switches to unpressurized mode, so to speak, and at the same time the valve core closes the valve in the rim again.
